Q: Can I order tickets online?
A: Yes! Simply click on the Buy Tickets link on any screening page within our online schedule to purchase advance tickets.
Q: When do advance ticket sales end?
A: Six hours before the first screening of that day.
Q: When can I pick up my advance tickets?
A: The Michigan Theater box office will be open a half-hour before all ticketed screenings during the festival. Will Call tickets will be available at that time.
Q: Will tickets still be available if a screening sells out online?
A: Potentially. Advance ticket sales do not cover 100% of seating for a screening. To check on the availability of tickets the day of a screening, a half hour before a screening at 734.763.8587 or simply show up and ask!
Q: I found a golden ticket in my chocolate bar. Is that good for screenings at the AAFF?
A: The AAFF does not honor tickets originating from candy wrappers of any kind.
Festival and Weekend Pass FAQ
Q: Are passes good for any screening?
A: Yes, with a but. We ask that you arrive 15 minutes prior to the screening you wish to attend to guarantee yourself a seat.
Q: Are passes good for the Midnight Movies?
A: Yes! There will be a separate line for pass holders outside the State Theater, and this line may or may not be marked by a carpet of rose petals.*
Q: Can I order end passes online?
A: You certainly can! Click here to buy passes at Brown Paper Tickets. Your pass will be available for pick up at Will Call at the Michigan Theater box officea half hour before any ticketed screening.
Q: Will my pass make me more attractive?
A: Yes. Lanyards have been considered a symbol of fertility as far back as the Mayan Shadow Puppet Festival (which was the longest-running festival of its kind in South America).
